From the very begining we believe that we accumulate an enormous amount of unnecessary waste and very often do so without thinking. Therefore, from the opening we are searching objects that seem to belong in the trash, but whose aesthetic function has not completely exhausted yet. They can be discarded cups, coffee cans or empty bags of coffee beans, jute bags, discarded damaged EUR pallets or old furniture. We try to look for those things that just need to be adapted easily so that additional users can enjoy them again.

Therefore, we have learned how to drill mugs using diamond drills, because they can be beautiful lamps. We also learned to grind, grind and grind again EUR pallets, because we can sit on them, store wine in it, or we can serve coffe on it. We learned also how to drill coffee cans and make out of them nice spotlight. Each month, we produce at least one piece and we want to prove that there is no need to produce so much waste and some of it can be recycled tastefully and with fun.

Let us introduce our café and the concept which we operate on the Czech market with. Sicily café was opened in July 2011 to offer Czech customers premium Sicilian coffee. As we are great lovers of good coffee, we were dissatisfied with offer of local market, which is often presented as a "premium coffee" and sold for a high price. Anyone who visited Sicily had to envy local people their espresso. You can enjoy coffee, which has an excellent taste, aroma, and its price is about 30 CZK, in every restaurant or every gas station. We have decided not to passively stand by. We bring a piece of Sicily into the Czech Republic. You can always rely on our premium services and products for a reasonable "Sicilian" price.

We have always argued that we can do business ethically and every entrepreneur can leave good results with minimal environmental footprint behind. We run our café with this approach:

- Café is 100 % non-smoking place;

- Detergents we use in our café are environmentally friendly;

- We buy energy from renewable resources only;

- We minimize waste production and we recycle carefully;

- Most bottles are refundable, no bottles are plastic;

- We prefer products from Czech manufacturers and local producers;

- We Increase the proportion of organic products;

- Cafe is a place for exhibitions, lectures, seminars, etc.

 

Every day we prepare home-made cuisine with a high proportion of organic products, roast home-made cakes and Italian coffee prepared in espresso-based grains, which we bring from Italy.

Among our services, of course, there is free wifi internet (the password you get at the operator), a daily newspaper, and if you want a little bit of fiction, you can find books from our shelves and windows. The entire cafe area is of course non-smoking.
